![]() People were dressed in ski gear with helmets and pads. It looked like an inflatable boogie board. One of the beginner hills were shut down so people could airboard down the slope. It must be something new as I have never seen it before. It would have been fun to try the Airborading too. The adults loved all the slopes they tried, our only regret was that we didn't have more time to ski. The kids with the private lessons talked about how wonderful their teacher Terry was, and how she made learning fun. The newbie skiers couldn't wait to come back and take more lessons. ![]() There was also a cafeteria type food court in the lodge with a Johnny Rockets and Ben and Jerry. The Slocum Hollow bar had bar food but it also had a typical kids menu. We all sat down and had dinner together and talked about our day. The parents explored the beginner and intermediate slopes. The other two kids took a private lesson bc they hadn't skied since last winter. Two kids opted for a group boarding lesson, as they had never been on the slopes. Our group consisted of a mix of abilities. I didn't stress about wondering where the kids were all the time and if they were safe. It also did seem busy by the parking lot, though we never really had to wait long in any lift lines. It had snowed only two days prior to our visit so the slopes were an awesome mix of natural and man made snow, hardly any ice. Montage was a bit of a drive but so worth it when we got there. We live in an area that has a number of ski resorts very near by. ![]() We visited on Jan 25th with another family. If your in the area or considering skiing, check out the new Montage. ![]() You can definitely tell the people here care about everything down to the smallest details. Good job to the owner for taking this diamond in the rough and making something special out of it. Some of the better times I had as far as conditions go w no wait lines for the lifts. Staff was knowledgable, friendly and very helpful. Prices on tickets and food was below most places in NEPA. With a family of 5 we ate a lot and everything we ordered was superb. The place insides looks amazing! Cool designs hanging on the lodge, the bar looked 1 million times better than I remember and food was actually very very good. Terrain park was pretty awesome, my one kid loved it. And best of all NO LIFT LINES!! You can tell they actually cared about the slopes as much as the lodge and things. The place is 100% open, the trails are wide, open and free. I remember now why I liked the place back when I came. I ski other areas in the Poconos and compared to those, I felt as if I had gotten a steal. ![]() Besides being taken back by the actual appearance- new rental building, all new steps leading down, newly poured concrete, the place LOOKS GREAT!! We Bought our tickets got the kids rentals with lessons and all. Anyways, we decided to back to Montage(heard of the renovations, new owner, etc.) I must say upon arriving I was greeted by friendly ski advisors in yellow with signs "ask me anything". I'm older now with kids, this is a luxury at this point. Liked it, actually remember it being pretty good. I had only been too Montage once when I was young. Our day started out wondering where to take the family(what ski area). ![]()
